What is Collagen used for?

Collagen, or rather collagens, are responsible for the firmness and elasticity of the skin. Alongside hyaluronic acid and elastin, it forms a solid network in the dermis, the second layer of the skin. With age, their quantity and quality decrease, resulting in the famous wrinkles and a “drooping” facial contour.

When we know the importance of collagens for the skin, we must give it some. But not just in any way.

Applying skincare products containing collagen is not the solution. Collagen molecules are too large to penetrate the dermis and provide the desired firmness.
